The journey
Paper?<-- My passion..i'm surprised

Ok, here's a serious entry~ I swear there really would be substance in it.

It might have been weeks that has gone by hastily. But i'm keeping track of time still. Apparently it's gonna be wk 4 of sch already. In another 8 more weeks i'm expected to complete my final year project and be ready for the external examiner to come and grade my work. There's supposedly 11 more weeks to go but unfortunately the external examiners has decided to come in earlier instead.
It's indeed hectic and rushing i must say and these external examiners just have to make matters worst.

In between, my brain has been continously forced to its limit to generate more interesting ideas. My initial proposal of a cook school has been scraped because Keith sees no future in it. It was my very first encounter of him shooting me questions which i can't defend my proposal at all. Actually i agree with him that the cook school's proposal will not bring me far. Thank God~ He didn't shout at my face. Do you know that being lectured by Keith is a very scary experience? Because he literally screams at your face. Each time there's a review, i just have to say a silent prayer in my heart. Yes, that's how terrified i was.

Then came Thur's review, i was afraid again because i didn't do much. Had spend most of the time brain racking for more ideas and running all about Singapore looking for a suitable site. But before i continue on, i would like to share one of my terrifying site experience. Went to this old army barrack at Dempsey road alone and it really freaked me out. The place is so inaccessible with lots of green around it. Then, the place doesn't seem to have any single soul around it. And the weather is not cooperative as well. It just have to rain. You know me...i don't have the habbit of carrying an umbrella. Despite the rain, i quickly make my way out of that place. I just don't want to be stranded at that site...for all u know u might see one of those.."ahem". Ok, and back to where i last stopped..the thur's review. I had only 2 proposal with me which is rather risky because i'm suppose to produce 5 for Keith. Imagine if both proposals are rejected again, that would really be the end of me. Lucky enough, both my proposal was good enough that Keith asked me to choose one out of the two.
In Summary, one was on noodles the other was on paper. For the first time, i felt a sign of relieve when Keith gave the green light and i'm able to proceed on to the nxt stage. However, one of my classmates was not as lucky as me. She had 2 proposal as well but both has been rejected and on top of that, Keith made some harsh remarks that made her cry. Well, it's one of the worst thing that has ever happened so far...at the very beginning all the girls in his class were warned not to cry in front of him. If need be, it would be better to excuse ourselves or else prepare to get even worst remarks from Keith.

Thank God, the weekends are here again..but still, i can't find much rest out of it. I wished i had time to sleep longer till 10a.m in the morning but that would just be a dream that can never be fulfilled till the next holiday comes. I had to force myself out of bed at 7a.m on each day because there's really so much work to do that..i have to sleep late and wake up early in order to complete a portion of the requirements.

i felt weak and tired...i really don't know how long this engine of mine can last until. But i just have to force myself to keep it going. The attitude of the mind have to be set right...it's really a tough fight between giving up and going on. And i must win this mental battle. Thank you Lord once again for answering my prayers by letting me be in keith's class. But i asked of you to help me realise, that each contribution that i made in church will be my form of grattitude to you. Grant that i may not complain the workload but instead treat it as a delight for doing your will. Amen.

My Chosen Design Proposal

Ever wonder what a piece of paper could be transformed into when it landed into the hands of different people? Some people use a piece of paper for writing, treat it as a form of art while others regards them as waste.

Despite the fact that in this new millennium, everything has been dominated by the computer science but that does not mean that the paper era will come to an end. In fact, I feel that we ought to appreciate what paper could do for us instead.

On top of that, one of the environmental issues faced, is the wastage of papers, it will cause more trees to be cut down and hence lead on to deforestation. Therefore, in conjunction with the Singapore Environment Council and the National Art Council, a save paper campaign would be launched. The message would be conveyed through art forms, such as paper art. From this, people will learn more about papers and be amazed by the wonders of its transformation and contribution to the society.

Hence this project addresses the environmental issues of paper wastage to the public through the means of art.

The invention and making of papers is a process that enables us to obtain its final product. Hence in this space, it will be a journey through time. People will see for themselves the different stages that paper went through. The process of making papers will be revealed so as to understand what lies beyond it.

The space will be used to exhibit the different types of paper art and the origin of paper. Ranging from 2D paper art such as paper cutting to 3D paper art of furniture made using recycled paper. In here, people would not only see paper as it is but to be able to see beyond what a paper could be transformed into. It could also be a space whereby people pick up a book that were printed on recycled materials with a cup of coffee and read for leisure or they could even have the experience of resting on these paper furniture. It’s a space for appreciation, being aware of the consequences of wasting papers and a center for knowledge on Paper. Paper will take the limelight in this space and people will be enlighten and amazed in this world of paper.

Therefore, the message to bring across is that Papers, whether new or old, it could be crafted to become a masterpiece.
